Paul Blart is a mild-mannered man who works as a security guard in a New Jersey mall. For years, he has applied to become a cop, but he always fails the physical exam because he has hypogmycemia and tends to pass out when his blood sugar is low. One day, a gang of organized criminals put the mall under siege and take hostages. Blart becomes trapped inside, and because of his sense of duty, refuses to leave. He thus becomes the police department's eyes on the inside and attempts to stop the criminals on his own.
A single, albeit overweight, parent, Paul Blart lives a middle-classed lifestyle with his daughter, Maya, in New Jersey. After being mocked at in school, and having been unsuccessful to get employment with the local police services, he gets hired at a Mall as a security guard. He is attracted to a mall employee, Amy, but his attempts to woo her are foiled by a pen salesman. His continuing efforts to date Amy are hilarious as he must first adapt himself to cell phones and text messaging, which he attempts to do with his pal, Vijay's daughter's cell-phone. Things get complicated after he is instructed to train a new security guard - who has an agenda of his own - that will end up changing Paul's life forever.
I just saw the film Paul Blart: Mall cop. I am in desperate need of a bad film, so I picked this one. The weirdest thing about this film is that I actually liked it more than Observe and report. Another surprising thing is that I liked it at all.
There is actually a lot to laugh at in this Die hard parody. That was a good thing about this film. There were many funny scenes also, like when he gets drunk. I am not a Kevin James fan, but I was impressed with is performance. I thought that this film would be really, really stupid, but I laughed quite a bit. I am a rare person who actually enjoys Adam Sandler comedies. so there is no wonder why I enjoyed this film.
Paul Blart: mall cop:***/**** Just watched it on TV. I am a huge Kevin James fan. I think His acting on King of Queens was brilliant. But the man just cannot find good movies to do. This movie was so unfunny, and predictable it was painful to watch. Sadly, James is a modern day Don Knotts with a fat belly. What I mean is, Knotts played the same character all his life. Everything he ever did was Barney Fife. Every movie, he was a bumbling, likable dunce who always got the pretty girl in the end. Same with James. James is the same thing. Everything is Doug Heffernan. Adding a mustache doesn't change anything. This movie was awful. Virtually every scene was predictable, and of course, a happy ending where he gets the girl that he could never get in real life. Yawn. His movies make money but they aren't very good. Mediocre, unmemorable comedy. Paul Blart: Mall Cop is based on a screenplay by Kevin James, who plays the title character, and by writer and voice actor Nick Bakay. ...on the ring tone for Paul's borrowed phone: My bubble Gum by Rasheeda
...the first karaoke song: Runaway by Bon Jovi
...when Paul is leaving the house for work: Mr Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra
...in the trailer: Livin' on a Prayer by Bon Jovi
...in the bar: Runaway by Bon Jovi
...when he walks over to Amy at the end: I Can't Hold Back by Survivor
...when he starts singing in the video games: Detroit Rock City by Kiss Yes. An extra scene depicting Blart's wedding is shown about 20 seconds into the credits, but there's nothing after the credits. The extra scene is not worth sticking around for. a5c7b9f00b
